Google Adwords Your Cash Cow Or Money Pit

I have have used google adwords on many occassions over the years with some success and also many failures… Find out my failures and my success and how I did it and what to avoid.

After building my very first web site the best option for me to generate an instant income was to use google adwords, after all the guru's were plugging it as the the big money spinner of its time and how anybody could do it. So I jumped in after buying an ebook from a so called guru which by the way cost me $97 USD and really after much trial and error was written on content that was freely available on the internet. This was my first mistake.

Armed with my newly purchased ebook and all the confidence in the world I set up my google adwords account and started to promote my site. I found it very easy to set up and use I wrote my ads and set my budget and waited for the money to roll in, and waited and waited. After three days I thought maybe my ads weren't showing as I hadn't really thought that I needed to check anything so I logged in to my adwords account and to my horror my ads had been showing or should I say they had been showing but not converting so all it was doing was paying google $20 USD a day to advertise my site with no result.

And yes my web traffic had grown from 40 vistors a day up to around 250 a day which at the time was the only thing I was monitoring to see if my ads were effective. What this so called guru hadn't told me in his ebook was that negative keywords could stop alot of free loaders from clicking on my ads. So what I ended up with by using terms in my ads such as "Free" or "Free Report" and "Free Ebook" was allot of people looking for free information which of course you don't get paid for and definately doesn't lead to any sales. Unless of course you are the guy selling this ebook to a sucker like me.

I then started to change my adwords ads in desperation and found that my adwords campaigns were now being disabled. I was getting in deeper and deeper until of course I just paused the campaign in complete frustration.

So I left Google Adwords alone as all I was doing was feeding the google money pit and not seeing any benefit at all.

My Results With Adwords

To date I am running five campaigns at $10 USD a day and one google campaign at $20 USD a day. I am not promoting my own products but instead I am using products from Clickbank as they have a high commission payout of up to 75%.

So what am I making well let me ask you this if you were to invest $100,000 today and left it for twelve months on average you would have made 10% making you an easy $10,000 for your trouble and of course risk.

What if you could invest $10 a day and make 150%  a day profit  from products that aren't yours you don't maintain or don't  even have to do follow up emails well this is what I am doing. So lets look at this for a twelve month period. I have invested $10 x 365 = 3,650 my proft is 150% a day $15 x 365= $5,475 so after all costs have been taken out I am in front on just this one campaign by $5,475. Ok remember I have 5 of these campaigns and they all perform around the same so if I average this out over all five of my Google Campaigns my profit from google adwords is $27,375.

So from my intial investment which by the way I can stop at a minutes notice as I am in full control unlike your $100,000 investment that is intrusted to the integrity of someone else.
